Sanctuary is celebrating a hat-trick of successes at the Worcestershire Group Training Association (WGTA) Apprenticeship Awards.
The leading social housing and care provider saw three of its apprentices triumph at the event, which took place at Sixways Stadium and covered both 2020 and 2021 after last year’s ceremony was cancelled due to the pandemic.
Accountancy apprentices Keeley Ash and Matthew Ellis picked up the Excellence in Accountancy awards for 2020 and 2021 respectively, while former business and administration apprentice Charlotte Stockton won the 2021 Commerce Endeavour award.
Sanctuary also had another eight apprentices nominated, while former apprentice Faisal Zaib, now a technology project manager at Sanctuary, spoke at the ceremony and presented both Keeley and Matthew with their awards.
The WGTA Apprenticeship Awards celebrate vocational training and the apprenticeship programmes which help prepare people for key jobs in local businesses.
Sanctuary’s national apprenticeship programme was established in 2008 and has since supported more than 2,000 people into work, both directly and indirectly through development partners.
Apprentices work in a variety of business areas, including finance, IT, housing, business and administration and health and social care, gaining valuable workplace experience while studying for practical qualifications alongside their day-to-day role.
Nicole Seymour, Sanctuary’s Group Director – Corporate Services, said: “We recognise the value of apprenticeships and are committed to investing in them and supporting people to realise their ambitions.
“We’re very proud of Charlotte, Keeley and Matthew and delighted that their hard work and dedication have been recognised with these prestigious awards.”
