Pupils and staff at a Worcestershire school are benefitting from brand new kitchen facilities thanks to support from Sanctuary.

Sanctuary’s own in-house construction team has given the kitchen at St Barnabas CE First & Middle School in Drakes Broughton a substantial makeover, with new paint, kitchen units, a water heater and upgraded plumbing and electrics, totally transforming the space.

The team has also repainted the school library, with all the work being carried out as part of Sanctuary’s MORE! programme, which aims to deliver community investment in the places where it is building new homes.

The school is next door to Sanctuary’s new development, The Orchards, where it is delivering 110 new homes for rent, outright sale and shared ownership.

Jim Wright, Sanctuary’s contracts manager, said: “We are really pleased to have been able to make such a positive contribution at St Barnabas CE First & Middle School, using the skills of our in-house construction team.”

Stephen Booth, headteacher at St Barnabas, commented: “On behalf of everyone here at St Barnabas I would like to thank the Sanctuary team for the amazing work they have carried out at the school and for being so generous with their time and resources.

“Everything has been completed to an amazing standard and has totally transformed those areas of our school.”
