Vice Chairman
Bob is Vice Chair of the NRSP. He has lived in Southend-on Sea for more than 40 years with his wife Yvonne. They are both retired teachers and have three children, who are all married and live in South Essex. The couple also have a laid-back dog called Sally.
Here's Bob's story in his own words:
I first joined Sanctuary's scrutiny process as part of its East Panel and became its Chair before it was reorganised, and then joined the NRSP. It is important that residents of any housing association have a role in monitoring its performance as they are the recipients of the service provided. The NRSP looks to improve that service and ensure residents have the best experience possible.
I am concerned at the number of complaints and moans that appear on social media, so I agreed to be the NRSP’s lead on the work being carried out with Sanctuary staff to monitor complaints and improve the responses, which should lead to fewer complaints and a better service.
Until retirement I worked for nearly 20 years as an education and employment consultant for the National Association of Head Teachers and life is still quite busy as I am responsible for leading a small Free Church where we live.
My wife and I both like Chinese food, so can often be found in our local restaurant where we have a good relationship with the staff.
I am also a keen motorist. To relax, we enjoy TV quiz shows and crime series.
