Trade Supervisor - Property Services (Glasgow & West Scotland)

I’m often asked about the best way to start a career in a practical trade, and my advice is always the same.

If you're looking to learn, earn, and grow both professionally and personally, then enrolling in Sanctuary's Apprenticeship Scheme is a route worth considering. It’s the perfect opportunity to gain hands-on experience while building a solid foundation for your future career in the trade.

Sanctuary’s Maintenance Operations team serves over 125,000 units of accommodation throughout England and Scotland, ranging from residential care facilities to rented accommodation. This means our apprentices have great exposure to a wide range of properties right from the offset, helping them understand how the organisation and maintenance teams work together as a whole and providing them with great insight.

Not only is our Maintenance Operations apprenticeship scheme focused on sharing knowledge and teaching valuable skills, but we’re also keen to hear from the individuals in training themselves.

It’s great to listen to their ideas, as they provide a fresh perspective that helps shape the continuous development of our work. It’s not long before apprentices become integrated into the team, and we start to see an impressive shift in their capability, which I believe comes from the supportive environment that our apprenticeship schemes offer.

From my perspective, one of the most rewarding aspects of an apprentice’s journey is witnessing the truly transformative growth in their confidence and skill set during the programme. We want individuals to succeed in their learning, but also embrace our values - a win for both the apprentice and the employer.

I’d encourage anyone looking for an apprenticeship to consider Sanctuary's Maintenance Operations Apprenticeship Scheme. This programme offers a supportive environment where you can learn from experienced colleagues, develop key skills and become a key part of providing the best service for our customers.
