Alan has lived in a Johnnie Johnson leasehold bungalow in South Manchester since 2010. He has three sons, one daughter, and six grandchildren.
“I’ve been involved with Johnnie Johnson since 2011 and have taken on leadership roles to represent residents. It’s important to me that residents are involved in decision making, and I want to do whatever I can to support this.
“After leaving school, I started a five-year marine engineering apprenticeship, while studying for an Ordinary National Certificate in Marine and Mechanical Engineering.
“The majority of my working life has been spent in engineering. When I retired, we moved to Northern Cyprus for five years before coming home.
“In my spare time I like to read, listen to jazz, and follow lots of different sports.”
