Race Equality Network
REN consists of colleagues of different ethnicities who are passionate about race equality and want to forge positive change. It's an active, friendly and inclusive community, which offers a safe space for colleagues to share lived experiences and find peer support.
The network does a great job at raising awareness across the organisation, growing empathy and understanding and celebrating cultural diversity. At heart, REN is about empowering colleagues – creating opportunities to be heard and make sure everyone can thrive at Sanctuary.
Disability Network
Sanctuary's Disability Network is a platform to raise awareness of disabilities of all kinds and effect positive change. The network connects colleagues with disabilities, those who care for people with disabilities, and those who wish to learn more and be allies.
In this short video, created for Disability History Month 2023, some of our colleagues talk openly about their disability or long-term health condition and how it impacts them. We find their honesty and openness moving and hope you do too.
PRISM Network
PRISM is Sanctuary’s network for colleagues who identify as diverse in sexual orientation, gender identity or sex, plus their allies. PRISM is an acronym for Pride, Respect, Inclusion, Support and Motivation - values the network hopes to uphold in its work.
The network plays a key role supporting Sanctuary in its goal to become a more inclusive workplace, and well as providing peer-to-peer support amongst employees and organising events to raise awareness and help embed a wider culture of inclusivity. These include everything from coffee mornings and informal lunchtime drop-in sessions to webinars, toolbox talks and organisation-wide celebrations marking occasions such as Pride Month and LGBT+ History Month.
Parent Network
Sanctuary is committed to supporting expectant parents and parents with children to obtain a good work-life balance. Our employee-led Parent Network supports our colleagues at all stages of the parenting journey. Whether they're a dad, a mum, a guardian, or they want to be, the Parent Network provides a channel to share experiences, get guidance and seek support.
The network is constantly evolving - recruiting parent Buddies, sharing resources and holding events to spread awareness across our whole organisation. One of its key focus areas has been working with our HR department to improve policies for the benefit of colleagues. The network played a key role in the creation of a Family Responsibilities Procedure, which includes specific support for those undertaking IVF and recognition of the impact of baby loss - parents are now entitled to five days compassionate leave for a loss at any stage of pregnancy.
