Tradespeople, we’re recruiting for our Property Services teams

We provide in-house repairs, gas and maintenance services for all properties across Sanctuary. As one of the largest social landlord organisations we are stable in the marketplace. We employ over 13,000 people and we advocate a good work/life balance.

40 hours per week – Monday to Friday with some on call weekend work (On call standby allowance plus time and a half pay for all time, door to door, spent working on call).

Multi Trade Operatives

As well as day to day repairs you will be responsible for bringing void properties up to a lettable standard and completing any repairs which need to be done. With skills in joinery, plumbing, plastering and tiling you will either work in pairs or on your own to complete tasks such as fitting kitchens, bathrooms, windows and doors. City & Guilds qualification, NVQ 3 or relevant experience in relevant trades such as joinery, plumbing and plastering is essential.

Gas Engineers

You will be responsible for delivering gas servicing repairs and installations of heating systems in our tenant’s homes. You could be working on your own or as part of a small team and you will be working on a variety of different boiler types and systems. You will hold a current Gas safe registration ACS (previously ACOPS) along with a natural gas domestic qualification.

Electricians

You will be responsible for testing and inspecting our occupied and void properties for any faults and repairs. As a fully qualified Electrician, you will be expected to have trained to 18th Edition with a City & Guilds qualification, NVQ 3 or relevant experience. Plus, you will have current certificates in BS2391 Test and Inspect, and competency in PAT Testing. 

Landscape Technicians

Spending your working time outdoors you’ll visit both large estates with communal gardens as well as smaller properties and carry out tasks such as grass cutting, hedge cutting and shrub pruning to keep our estates looking presentable for our tenants and visitors. A pesticide application certificate PA1 – PA6 or equivalent, plus an NVQ3 or equivalent in Horticulture or similar is desirable.

Mobile Cleaners  

Working across various buildings you will be responsible for cleaning void/empty properties to ensure they are returned to a lettable standard. You’ll be carrying out general cleaning duties as well as taking initiative to identify and report any hazards or faults you may come across in the course of your work. We’ll provide you with all the tools needed for the role and a van to travel to different sites. You’ll ideally have experience of operating cleaning machinery and an working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation. 

Caretakers

Working on our Housing Estates you will be responsible for carrying out a caretaking service including cleaning the properties and maintaining communal areas. You’ll also carry out grounds maintenance tasks such as onsite repairs, removing bulk waste and lawn mowing. The role will predominately be lone working and we’ll provide you with all the necessary tools. You’ll have experience in a similar role and be used to operating hand tools and light machinery.
