We are delighted to be one of the recipients of the £3.5 million that has been awarded in Round 4 of the Government’s Heat Network Efficiency Scheme (HNES).

The almost-£700,000 in HNES funding will be used for improvement works on the Bow Cross Estate in Tower Hamlets, which will be matched with significant additional investment from Sanctuary. Homes on the estate are managed by Swan Housing, part of Sanctuary.

This funding will support upgrading the primary heat network pipework and the distribution pumps and control systems at the energy centre. This work combined will mitigate heat losses, enhance network efficiency, and improve overall system resilience, benefiting 543 residents.

The Government’s HNES aims to improve the performance of heat networks around England and Wales. By accessing the funding, we can further provide better services to our customers, increase the heat efficiency in their homes, and reduce their heating costs. £3.5 million has been awarded in the latest round of the HNES funding - distributed between 20 local authorities, housing associations, NHS trusts, universities, and private sector organisations.
