A swift in flight with its wings spread soaring in a blue sky

We are helping endangered birds by adding special nest boxes to homes in Eastfield and Barrowcliff, Yorkshire.

Sanctuary, alongside Alan Wood and Partners (Architects) and contractor Jennings Roofing, have now built 230 swift nest boxes onto homes in Yorkshire, providing the swifts with a safe place to raise their young.

Jessica-Mae Townsend, Regional Asset Manager, said: "We were first approached by the North Yorkshire Swift Group and thought it a great idea.

"We are hoping to move this project to a bigger scale and begin installations of the nesting boxes in other parts of the country.”

Thanks to the support of our customer and communities, we hope to help swifts thrive in the Yorkshire again.
