Sanctuary
Community-minded staff from Worcester-based Sanctuary have been volunteering their time to support local charity St Richard’s Hospice.
Members of the social housing provider’s finance team spent time sorting through clothing at the charity’s warehouse and donation centre in Leigh Sinton.
The warehouse acts as a hub for St Richard’s Hospice for sorting donations, which are then distributed to the charity’s 18 shops across Worcestershire.
Support for the charity was organised through Sanctuary’s Employee Volunteering scheme, which encourages staff to give time to support community groups, charities and schools in communities across the country.
This was the latest group of employees from Sanctuary to volunteer at the charity in recent weeks as it recovers from the impact of the pandemic.
Claire Watkins, Staff and Volunteer Engagement Officer at St Richard’s Hospice, said: “Through our key relationships with corporate partners such as Sanctuary, we can provide volunteering experiences that not only give vital extra support to our work, but that build a team environment and give volunteers a great insight into the difference they are making for the hospice.
“We cannot thank the team from Sanctuary enough for their latest donation of time.”
Ed Lunt, Sanctuary’s Group Finance Director, added: “I was very keen to sign our team up to the employee volunteering scheme so we could put something back into the community we work in.
“It was a great experience to get together and help a local charity that plays such an important role supporting those in need across Worcestershire.”
