This year there are five categories:
- Volunteer of the Year
- Community group
- Young Person – under 21
- Good Neighbour
- Community Venue
Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on Thursday 24 August and donations will be made to community groups of the winners’ choice.
Charlie Heritage, Sanctuary’s neighbourhood partnership manager, said: “2023 marks the fifth year of the Cherwell Volunteer Awards and I have no doubt that we will once again discover more incredible people that are striving to make positive changes in our community.
“We look forward to receiving some fantastic nominations and to recognising the people in our community who go the extra mile.”
Nicola Riley, Assistant Director: Wellbeing and Housing Services at Cherwell District Council, said: “There is a sense of selflessness and togetherness within our communities and the Cherwell Volunteer Awards offer the perfect opportunity for those that go above and beyond to be recognised for their invaluable input and support.
“We wholeheartedly encourage people to show their thanks and shine a light on the brilliant work being done throughout the district.”
